Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has allocated nearly RM60 million to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) under the Sentuhan Kasih KPKT 3.0 programme. Minister Nga Kor Ming announced that the allocation involves 114 infrastructure development projects, as well as three specific development programmes and studies for the year. Efforts are being made to ensure these projects are swiftly and fully completed this year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the project encompasses eight allocations under the supervision of agencies and departments within the KPKT, focusing on urban development initiatives. The National Housing Department has been allocated RM27.8 million for 38 projects, which include the Housing Maintenance Programme (PPP), the Malaysian Housing Maintenance Fund (TPPM), and the Stratified Affordable Housing Maintenance Programme for lift improvements.
Additionally, RM16.9 million has been allocated to the National Landscape Department for upgrading projects at Bukit Kiara Federal Park Phase 2 and Taman Poket P. Ramlee, Jalan Pinang, Kuala Lumpur. Further allocations include RM6.8 million for constructing bus stops and covered walkways around the Klang Valley and physical development projects in Indian villages.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) development project in Kuala Lumpur has been allocated RM4.6 million. This includes the Manjalara Fire and Rescue Station in Desa Petaling, JBPM quarters in Cheras, and a Compact Fire Rescue Tender (CFRT) unit.
Nga also highlighted that RM1.5 million has been set aside for maintaining 10 non-Muslim houses of worship. Additionally, RM1 million has been allocated to the Town and Country Planning Department (PLANMalaysia) for studying urban planning methods. An amount of RM666,000 is designated for the Urban Community Economic Empowerment (PEKB) programme to assist single mothers and the B40 group, while RM600,000 has been allocated for the New Village Development project in the Federal Territory.
The Sentuhan Kasih KPKT 3.0 programme commenced with a visit to Cheras Baptist Church, followed by inspections of various community upgrade projects, and concluded at the Bandar Tasik Selatan Low-Cost Flats.
