RiUH Merdeka: Perfect Venue for Malaysians to Celebrate National Day, Says Fahmi

Putrajaya: The RiUH Merdeka programme that commenced at noon today is being hailed as the ideal venue for Malaysians to celebrate National Day 2025 in a relaxed manner with their families. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil noted the encouraging response from visitors to the 30-hour-long non-stop event, which is located at the parking lot of the Millennium Monument, just a kilometre from the National Day Parade at Dataran Putrajaya.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi expressed hope that attendees would enjoy a peaceful and relaxed environment by the lake while celebrating National Day. He highlighted the array of free live performances by local artists planned for the Merdeka Countdown and anticipated even more visitors leading up to the event.

The Communications Ministry, through MyCreative Ventures (MyCreative), is organising RiUH Merdeka as part of the National Day 2025 celebrations. The 30-hour non-stop festival, running from noon today until 6 pm tomorrow, offers a variety of events. Fahmi mentioned the diverse food options from regions like Sarawak and Negeri Sembilan, and various vendors with assorted dishes and performances, noting that the programme lives up to its name.

RiUH promotions and marketing manager Mohammed Falliq Mohammed Effendy shared that this is the first time the programme is being held in Putrajaya, adding to the festive atmosphere. Besides food and lifestyle product stalls, visitors can participate in art workshops, watch free movie screenings, and engage in various activities while awaiting tomorrow’s parade. Falliq advised attendees to arrive early to avoid traffic and make use of the event’s facilities.

The National Day 2025 side event aims to instill patriotism and love for the country through arts, culture, and creativity. It also provides a platform for creative industry players and local entrepreneurs to showcase talents, explore business opportunities, and foster community ties. Over 25,000 visitors are expected, with live music performances from local artists like Yuna, Misha Omar, Pop Shuvit, Alif Satar and The Locos, IamNeeta, and Datuk Zainal Abidin.
