Kota bharu: A man died after he is believed to have suffered a heart attack and fallen into a three-metre-deep septic tank pit under construction in Taman Permai, Demit, near here this afternoon. Kota Bharu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Mohd Ridwan Baharuddin said the department received an emergency call at 5.28 pm. Firefighters arrived at the scene at 5.37 pm and found a man lying unconscious inside a three-metre-deep hole. According to BERNAMA News Agency, firefighters extricated the victim using a stretcher before Ministry of Health medical personnel examined him. The victim, Zakari Mat Jusoh, 48, was confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers. He added that family members reported the victim had a history of heart problems and a medical appointment last week. "At the time of the incident, the victim was reportedly measuring the hole to install a septic tank when he collapsed and fell in. Initial assessments by the medical team suspect the victim suffered a heart attack before collapsing," he said. Mohd Ridwan said the operation ended at 5.53 pm and the body was handed over to the police for further action.
