Do Not Accept Allegations Blindly – Mohamad Sabu

Kuala lumpur: Accepting allegations without proper scrutiny could fuel 'asabiyyah', a tendency to defend one's own group even when it is at fault while viewing the good deeds of others negatively, said Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He emphasized the importance of verifying information and gaining a clearer understanding before taking a stand.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Agriculture and Food Security Minister advocated for a similar approach when assessing current political issues in the country. He addressed claims resurfacing about DAP being a communist party and the notion that cooperating with it implies supporting communism. He questioned the validity of these claims, urging the public to seek the truth rather than accept such allegations blindly. Mohamad Sabu made these remarks during the launch of his book, "Mustadhafin vs Mustakbirin," co-authored with Ennie Zuhasniza Jamaludin. The event was officiated by National Journalism Laureate Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar, a director of Star Media Group Berhad.

Mohamad highlighted that facts and knowledge are often more challenging to accept and take longer to digest, unlike accusations and suspicions, which can spread rapidly, particularly via social media. He emphasized that his book reflects his experiences and interactions with various parties to comprehend issues based on actual situations instead of relying solely on circulated information.

Sharing his personal approach, Mohamad noted that since his youth, he preferred to investigate information firsthand rather than succumb to propaganda. His book also provides insights into global geopolitical dynamics, drawing from his experiences, observations, and thoughts. It touches on themes such as colonialism, the Islamic movement, the Palestinian conflict, and shifts in global power.
