Kuala lumpur: The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional) has announced a moratorium of up to six months for entrepreneurs who are struggling to repay financing due to the recent floods. This initiative is designed to provide relief to those whose business sites, inventory, or homes have been damaged.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, TEKUN Nasional chairman Datuk Abdullah Sani emphasized that the program is a flood relief measure intended to alleviate the financial burdens faced by affected entrepreneurs. In addition to the moratorium, TEKUN entrepreneurs impacted by floods are permitted to withdraw part of their savings from their financing accounts and may also reschedule their repayments.
For entrepreneurs who have experienced damage to their business premises and stock, TEKUN Nasional is offering the option of overlapping financing to help restart their businesses. Datuk Abdullah Sani further explained that applications for this assistance can be submitted at any TEKUN branch office. Entrepreneurs are required to provide two photographs of their affected business premises or homes and obtain verification from the nearest TEKUN officer regarding the flood disaster.
Applications must be submitted within three months from the date of the flood. TEKUN Nasional remains dedicated to supporting micro-entrepreneurs by offering financing and entrepreneurial development opportunities.
