Kuala lumpur: The federal allocation distribution to state governments and the status of the ban on announcing government projects post-election nomination day will take center stage at today's Dewan Rakyat sitting.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodi (GPS-Sri Aman) is set to question the Prime Minister on claims regarding the unfairness and insufficiency of federal allocations to state governments compared to the revenue collected. The inquiry also seeks clarification on the MADANI Government's initiatives to enhance the allocation process.
In a related discussion, Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) will probe the Prime Minister on whether the prohibition against announcing government allocations or projects after the nomination closure remains effective, and what enforcement measures will be adopted in preparation for the upcoming Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
During Question Time, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (BN-Bera) plans to engage the Communications Minister on the government's strategies to bolster media and digital literacy. This initiative is crucial to address the proliferation of AI-generated content, such as deepfake videos, and to introduce verification and labeling systems to combat visual manipulation on social media platforms.
Additional inquiries will include Chong Zhemin (PH-Kampar) asking the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister about the readiness of the nation's electricity supply in meeting the escalating demands from data centers and the AI industry. Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) will seek insights into the effectiveness of the mySalam scheme for the B40 group, and Syahredzan Johan (PH-Bangi) will inquire about the redemption rate of the MADANI Book Vouchers for 2024 and 2025.
Further questions will be directed by Datuk Mumtaz Md Nawi (PN-Tumpat) to the Human Resources Minister regarding the efficacy of TalentCorp initiatives, such as the Career Comeback Programme (CCP), aimed at encouraging women's re-entry into the workforce.
Additionally, Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar) will request updated figures from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister on the nationwide implementation of the Program Jualan Rahmah MADANI by state constituency, and inquire about the ministry's preparedness to increase the program's frequency to alleviate living costs.
Post-Question Time, the Dewan Rakyat will continue the winding-up debate on the Sexual Offences Against Children (Amendment) Bill 2026. The session will also deliberate on amendments proposed by the Dewan Negara to the Employment Insurance System (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Cyber Crime Bill 2026.
