Kuala lumpur: A man suffered burns to his body in a fire that spread to nine factory lots in Persiaran Industri Bercham 10, Bercham here this afternoon.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad stated that the 42-year-old man sustained burns to one percent of his body. Emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) provided first aid at the scene after receiving a call at 3.36 pm. A team of seven fire engines and 40 personnel was dispatched to respond to the fire.
The fire originated in a Class B plastics factory measuring 30 meters by 13 meters, which suffered 50 percent damage. Other affected factories included Lot 10 and 11 with 20 percent damage, Lots 12, 13, and 14 with 70 percent damage, Lots 16 and 18 with 80 percent damage, Lot 15 with 10 percent damage, and Lot 17 with 60 percent damage.
Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 6.25 pm. Overhaul work, inspections, and extinguishing of residual fires were conducted to ensure the area was free of any remaining fire sources.
