KLCI Futures See Decline Amidst Cash Market Gains

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract began trading on a lower note on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, even as the underlying cash market experienced gains.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.15 am, the June 2026 futures contract decreased by 10.0 points to 1,661.5. The July 2026 contract saw a drop of 11.5 points, settling at 1,664.5. The September 2026 contract slipped by 10.5 points to reach 1,648.0, while the December 2026 contract reduced by 9.5 points, ending at 1,650.0.

The turnover for these contracts stood at 3,534 lots, with open interest totaling 37,081 contracts. Meanwhile, at 9.51 am, the FBM KLCI index was reported to be 3.39 points lower, standing at 1,662.52, compared to the previous day's close of 1,665.91.
