Bukit Aman: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), will establish a special task force to address the issue of pilgrims stranded during this Haj season. Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) acting director Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali announced this strategic initiative as a measure to ensure every complaint related to stranded Haj pilgrims is handled efficiently, systematically, and effectively.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the task force will commence operations at 8 am on May 30 and will work around the clock. Muhammed Hasbullah stated that the task force operations center would be situated at the One Stop Centre Meeting Room, Level 2, Block B Parking, Main Terminal, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The special team is tasked with coordinating investigations, managing documentation, and pursuing legal action against individuals or company owners suspected of involvement in fraudulent Haj offers. Muhammed Hasbullah emphasized that PDRM, MOTAC, and TH have distinct jurisdictions and legal authority in addressing a range of Haj-related fraud offenses, and all actions will adhere to existing legal provisions.
As a preventive measure, Muhammed Hasbullah advised prospective pilgrims to thoroughly verify the Haj packages on offer and ensure that the companies involved are registered with TH to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
