Selangor: The Selangor Forestry Department (JPNS) has announced a temporary suspension of applications for trans hiking and compress hiking activities at all Permanent Reserved Forests (HSK) in the state, set to take effect on July 1. The department has cited safety concerns as the reason for this decision.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a notice from the Selangor Forestry Director states that any individuals or groups found violating this directive could face legal action under Section 47 of the National Forestry Act 1984 (Adoption) Enactment 1985. Those convicted may incur fines up to RM30,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both.
The duration of the temporary suspension remains unspecified, as the notice did not provide details on how long the measures would be in place.
