RM1 Million Allocated for Upgrades at Kesidang Flats

Melaka: Various basic facilities, including pump systems, drainage, and roofs in four flats in the Kesidang state constituency, have been upgraded with an allocation of RM1 million. Kesidang assemblyman Allex Seah Shoo Chin announced that the improvements involved three flats under the administration of the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) and one flat under the Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Seah, who also serves as the state Exco for Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs, emphasized that the upgrades were essential for the comfort of the residents. The funding was provided by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) through the Malaysian Housing Maintenance Fund. One of the key upgrades involved replacing the pump system at Rumah Pangsa Taman Merdeka, benefiting 300 houses across nine blocks, with an allocation of RM150,000 ensuring a reliable water supply.

Additionally, an allocation of RM500,000 was used to replace the roof of one block at Rumah Pegaga. Meanwhile, all pipes in one block at Rumah Pangsa Malim Jaya were replaced with an allocation of RM150,000. Seah provided these details during a media briefing at the Al-Jariah Madrasah Compound, Taman Melaka Baru 3, after officiating the Jalinan Mesra Perpaduan @ KRT DUN Kesidang event.

Seah further explained that upgrades would also extend to the pump and reticulation system at Rumah Pangsa Taman Cheng Mutiara, with an allocation of RM120,000. Beyond these immediate infrastructure improvements, more than 10 sports facilities in the Kesidang DUN, including fields in Taman Datuk Thamby Chik Karim and Taman Merdeka Jaya, have been upgraded with over RM200,000 allocated for community and youth use.

Looking ahead, Seah mentioned that 57 main programmes will be implemented throughout the Kesidang WRUR, involving collaborations with various government agencies, departments, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). These programmes will focus on public welfare, community engagement, and education. Highlights include awarding 100 students from 12 schools in the constituency and organizing free health checks on June 11 at the Kesidang State Legislative Assembly Development and Coordination Committee Office (Japerun). Additionally, events featuring local entrepreneurs and agencies will take place on June 13 and 14 at Malim Uptown.
