Returning Mandate Key To Ensuring Stability In Negeri Sembilan – Aminuddin

Negeri sembilan: Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the state election was called due to political uncertainty after several coalition partners switched positions and withdrew support for the government at the time. Aminuddin, who is also Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, explained that the situation had undermined the stability of the state administration, leading the government to seek a fresh mandate from voters through an election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin expressed that some allies lost patience and sought to undermine the government, likening the situation to a ship that was sailing smoothly but was then damaged. He remarked that there were moments of support followed by withdrawal, prompting the belief that the mandate should be returned to the people. His comments were made during the launch of Johor PH's election machinery, attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, along with notable figures such as DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook, PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, and PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The event also saw the presence of PKR vice-president and Johor PKR chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Johor Amanah chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, and Johor DAP chairman Teo Nie Ching. Aminuddin highlighted that the experience in Negeri Sembilan should serve as a reminder to Johor voters to choose a stable government committed to political cooperation. He emphasized that effective governance relies on honesty, sincerity, and respect for the people's mandate.

Aminuddin urged the people of Johor to remember the events in Negeri Sembilan to avoid similar occurrences elsewhere. He cautioned against situations where mutual respect and smooth governance are jeopardized by sudden disruptions, which he metaphorically described as punching holes in a ship.
