Perlis: The Perlis State Education Department (JPN) is providing full cooperation in the police investigation concerning a Year Six pupil who sustained injuries after allegedly falling when a chair was pulled away by a classmate at a local school last February.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPN Perlis emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and stated that individuals found guilty should face suitable consequences. The department highlighted its commitment to the incident and instructed the school to offer the necessary support to the injured pupil, ensuring her welfare and well-being are prioritized.
Bernama reported earlier that the 12-year-old girl has been unable to attend school for almost four months due to injuries that have affected her mobility since the incident on February 11. Her mother, Norasikin Hasin, 32, claimed her daughter sustained a lower back soft tissue injury and was later diagnosed with a functional disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result.
Padang Besar district police chief ACP Mohd Shokri Abdullah confirmed that a report had been filed regarding the incident. The case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office and is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
