Perak: The Perak branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized 19,000 litres of liquid, suspected to be diesel fuel, and several pieces of equipment valued at RM60,550 during a raid at a construction site in Changkat Asa Estate, near Tanjong Malim.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Kamalludin Ismail, the director of the Perak KPDN, stated that the raid was conducted around 1.30 pm by a team of KPDN enforcement officers following intelligence received from the public. The inspection at the site revealed two skid tanks containing a substantial amount of suspected diesel fuel, which was stored without written permission from the Supply Controller.
Datuk Kamalludin further explained that a 41-year-old local man, who identified himself as the construction site manager, was unable to produce any necessary documents, such as a licence, permit letter, or a controlled goods storage permit, when requested by the enforcement officers.
The case is currently being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for possessing or storing scheduled controlled goods without permission. The public has been urged to report any fraudulent activities through various channels, including WhatsApp at 019-848 8000, the e-aduankpdn.gov.my portal, line 1-800-886-800, or the KPDN Ez ADI smartphone application.
