Pahang Celebrates National Month with Flag Distribution Through KMJG X JAGO

Pahang: More than 2,000 Jalur Gemilang flags were distributed around the city through the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) X Jabatan Penerangan Arena Penggerak Komuniti (JAGO) programme to enliven the National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations. Pahang Information Department (JAPEN) director Rohani Chik said the Jalur Gemilang flags were handed out during convoy stops at seven locations, providing an opportunity for the department to engage with the community and encourage the public to embrace the spirit of independence together.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative to foster patriotism also served as a platform to encourage the public to fly the Jalur Gemilang at their homes, business premises, and vehicles throughout National Month. "We received a very good and lively response throughout the convoy. Local residents also organised activities such as bicycle decoration competitions, which I found very interesting," Rohani Chik told reporters at the final stop of KMJG X JAGO at the Marine Police Region Three Headquarters.

The convoy, which began at 8.30 am from Wisma Persekutuan, was joined by the Pahang National Security Council, Pahang Broadcasting Department, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Pahang, and Civil Defence Force (APM). The seven locations visited during the tour for the distribution of Jalur Gemilang kits were Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, a farmers' market, a petrol station, the Taman Bukit Rangin Perdana 2 surau, a supermarket, Kampung Pantai Beserah, and the Marine Police Region Three Headquarters.

Rohani mentioned that the programme aimed to support the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang campaign and was made more special with the participation of a JAGO vehicle specially brought from Putrajaya for the convoy. She said JAGO was a new initiative by the department to strengthen information dissemination in a more inclusive and interactive manner, with the vehicle equipped with an LED display, public address system, camera and multimedia equipment, an additional stage, and a discussion area.

She further noted that JAGO's participation helped attract public attention, making the programme livelier and bringing it closer to the community. Meanwhile, she hoped the public would take the opportunity throughout National Month to appreciate the meaning of independence and help enliven the atmosphere by flying the Jalur Gemilang.
