MyTourist Pass Introduced to Streamline Public Transport for Visitors.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd, through Rapid KL, today launched the MyTourist pass, a new initiative aimed at simplifying public transportation for both domestic and international tourists in the federal capital. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof stated that the launch aligns with the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Malaysia’s hosting of the ASEAN Summit in 2025, marking it as an important step in supporting Malaysia’s tourism industry.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MyTourist pass is designed to offer unlimited travel on Rapid KL’s rail and bus services, benefiting tourists as they explore key attractions in Kuala Lumpur, including Muzium Negara, Bukit Bintang, and Dataran Merdeka. This initiative is expected to boost the tourism sector, a significant contributor to Malaysia’s revenue, by attracting more visitors.

The pass also comes with additional perks, such as discounts at popular tourist spots, dining establishments, shopping centers, and theme parks like Petrosains,
the Petronas Twin Towers, Sunway Lagoon, and the Kuala Lumpur Tower. Transport Minister Anthony Loke highlighted the pricing structure, noting that Malaysian citizens can purchase the pass for RM20 per day, RM30 for two days, and RM40 for three days, while non-citizens will pay double these rates.

Loke emphasized that the MyTourist pass not only facilitates easier travel around Kuala Lumpur but also promotes the use of public transportation. Strategic partnerships with over 30 companies, including restaurants and shops favored by tourists, enhance the pass’s value by offering additional discounts. This initiative is seen as a positive step for Rapid KL to promote, encouraging more visitors to explore the city comfortably and affordably.
