Man’s Body Recovered From Tapah Ravine- Fire Dept

Tapah: A man was found dead in a ravine at Kampung Batu 23, Jalan Pahang near Tapah today. Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad stated that a passerby discovered the victim, believed to be in his 30s, lying motionless.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, an emergency call was received at 1.48 pm, prompting a team from the Tapah Fire and Rescue Station to deploy to the scene approximately 38 kilometres away. The team utilized specialized equipment to retrieve the body from the ravine. Medical personnel confirmed the victim’s death at the scene, and the body was handed over to the police for further action. The operation concluded at 4 pm.

Meanwhile, Tapah police chief Supt Johari Yahya said that an examination of the body found in the ravine revealed no serious injuries or signs of assault. “With assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department, the body was recovered from a 15-metre slope by eight personnel,” he said. The deceased had scratches on the left shoulder and thigh, likely caused by the fall down the ravine. The body has been sent to the Forensic Unit of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for a post-mortem scheduled at 9 am tomorrow. “An update will be provided after the post-mortem is completed,” he added.

In another incident in Sepang, a BMW caught fire at Turn 4 of the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) around 12.30 pm, believed to have been caused by a fuel tank leak. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar reported that 11 firefighters from the KLIA Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched after receiving an emergency call at 12.38 pm. “The car was destroyed, but the incident did not involve any injuries,” he stated.
