He emphasized the importance of these projects in protecting the people and safeguarding property, highlighting the government’s commitment to public safety.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the implementation of the flood mitigation projects (RTB) reflects the collective effort and cooperation of all parties involved. It also demonstrates the ability to deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe. Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Kelantan state government to the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation and JPS for the approved development allocation.
Speaking at the DID Senior Managers and District Engineers Conference 2025, officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Mohd Nassuruddin further commented on the aftermath of the recent major floods in Kelantan. He requested JPS to immediately repair all flood-damaged infrastructure through a comprehensive and phased approach.
Efforts to improve disaster management efficiency will be strengthened through drainage and irrigation structural plans in all flood-affected areas. These plans include the construction of concrete drains and the implementation of more modern eco-friendly drainage systems. Mohd Nassuruddin expressed hope that the Eco-Friendly Drainage System Master Plan (PISMA) in major towns will reduce the risk of flash floods and ensure a resilient drainage system for the future.
