Seremban: The Negeri Sembilan government has implemented a new directive for department heads and civil servants to display the Jalur Gemilang and the state flag at their residences until September 16. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun emphasized that this mandate applies even to those residing outside the state, with a minimum requirement for other civil servants to fly the Jalur Gemilang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Secretary’s Office circulated this directive two days ago to around 7,000 state civil servants as part of the preparations for this year’s National Day celebrations. The initiative aims to encourage a sense of patriotism among civil servants during the National Month, as highlighted by Aminuddin during a press briefing following a state executive council meeting at Wisma Negeri.
In addition, Aminuddin urged local governments to adopt innovative methods of displaying flags to enhance the festive atmosphere of the National Day celebrations. He suggested moving beyond traditional practices of simply hanging flags or placing them on poles, advocating for respectful and honorable installations that pay tribute to the nation’s sovereignty.
