Johor State Election Marks Resurgence of Barisan Nasional, Says Ahmad Zahid

Johor bahru: The 16th Johor State Election is poised to be more than a mere contest for state leadership; it is anticipated to be the catalyst for Barisan Nasional's (BN) resurgence on a national scale. BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized the significance of the upcoming election, asserting that it will demonstrate the revitalization of the BN blue wave, reflecting renewed public support not only in Johor but throughout Malaysia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid articulated his vision during the Launching Ceremony of the Johor BN Election Machinery at the EduCity Sports Complex Indoor Stadium. He expressed confidence that the people of Johor, known as Bangsa Johor, will discern between stability and disorder, substantive action and empty rhetoric, and genuine political struggle versus narrow partisan interests.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Johor BN Chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, MIC President Tan Sri Dr S A Vigneswaran, and People's Progressive Party (PPP) President Datuk Dr J Loga Bala Mohan. Ahmad Zahid further highlighted BN's commitment to reestablishing Johor as a steadfast stronghold for the party, often referred to as a 'fixed deposit.'

He urged the citizens of Johor not to be swayed by claims that BN caters to a single race, emphasizing that BN's strength lies in its inclusive support from all segments of Bangsa Johor. The UMNO President underscored the importance of securing a decisive victory in order to form a robust government, capable of countering experimental political strategies and opposition agendas rooted in retribution.

Ahmad Zahid reiterated that BN's strength is derived from its dedication to serving the people, rather than exploiting the weaknesses of its adversaries. BN plans to contest all 56 seats in the Johor state assembly, aiming to reaffirm its status as the cornerstone of political stability in Malaysia.
