Johor: The Johor state government has urged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to take immediate and firm action against those behind a fake TikTok account accused of insulting and tarnishing the image of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi expressed concern over the misuse of His Majesty's name and image, manipulated through artificial intelligence technology. The account is accused of uploading false allegations and degrading imagery, which he described as a serious insult.
He emphasized that such actions not only damage the reputation of His Majesty as Head of State and a Malay Muslim Ruler but also affect the sensitivities of Muslims and undermine the values and respect that Malaysians have for the Malay Rulers institution.
Onn Hafiz stated that the Johor government will not tolerate any party that insults His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia. He further insisted that freedom of speech should not be an excuse to spread slander, hatred, and insults against the royal institution.
The Menteri Besar urged the public, particularly the people of Johor, to refrain from spreading false content and to report any posts that insult the royal institution to the authorities immediately. He concluded by wishing for the protection of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and the preservation of the royal institution from all slander and malicious intent.
