Perak: Jaslinda Saludin, the 49-year-old climber who was found safe after being reported missing in the Gunung Batu Putih area, discovered two notes left by the search and rescue (SAR) team during their operation at Kem Air Busok. These notes were with her when she was found and later presented to the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the assistant director of operations at JBPM, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, mentioned that the notes were left by a forestry mountain guide named Hafiz on May 30, while conducting a search in Kem Air Busok. On that specific day, the SAR team concentrated their efforts on the route from Pos Musoh to Kem Air Busok, leaving the notes to indicate their passage through the area.
Sabarodzi further explained that Jaslinda reached the Kem Air Busok area on Friday, June 5, just a day before being found by Orang Asli residents in Kampung Lubuk Gaharu. The presence of the notes suggests that she had been near the path traversed by the SAR team throughout their search operation.
One of the notes, shared with the media, read: "Kak Jas please stay in one place, people are looking for you - Hafiz." Jaslinda had initially joined a climb with 13 other climbers and two mountain guides via the Trans Spencer Chapman route, commencing at 2 am on May 23. The route extended from Pos Gedung through Gunung Bah Gading and Gunung Batu Putih to Kuala Woh. However, due to health issues, both Jaslinda and another climber, Mohd Hanafi Neikmad, had paused their ascent. Despite this, Jaslinda, a supply chain executive at a private company, is believed to have continued towards the summit and was last seen on May 24.
