Kedah: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that community leaders must have a high level of patience in facing current challenges, while remaining committed alongside the MADANI Government to realise the national development agenda. He said that despite various accusations, it is the responsibility of leaders to continue fulfilling the trust given by the people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasised that developing the country is challenging and requires patience and wisdom as taught in the Quran. He noted the ease with which criticisms can be made, citing the example of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), where he faced heavy criticism despite previous support from parties like PAS and Bersatu for recognising the UEC.
The Prime Minister made these remarks during an engagement session with heads of federal departments and the Federal Village Development and Security Committees (JPKKP) in Kedah at Universiti Teknologi MARA. The session was also attended by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.
Anwar highlighted the need for community leaders to be well-informed and to know the best ways to communicate information to the public. He asserted that he would not be distracted by criticisms but would remain focused on advancing the country's economic development and alleviating the burdens faced by the people. He expressed a commitment to addressing issues such as damaged school toilets and leaking houses, even if it necessitated cutting ministers' allowances.
Moreover, the Prime Minister urged the public to maintain strong family institutions and equip children with skills in emerging technologies, emphasizing the importance of values, good morals, and a religious foundation in mastering artificial intelligence. He warned against elements that could lead the nation astray, underlining that progress cannot be achieved by abandoning faith and morality.
