Kuala lumpur: Malaysia's Harimau Malaya football team has climbed to 136th place in the latest world rankings issued by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). The update reflects a two-place improvement from their previous position of 138th.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the national team has accumulated 1,086.22 points in the most recent rankings. The advancement in the rankings was influenced by the performances of other teams, such as India and Latvia, rather than Malaysia's own matches, as the team did not participate in any games during the international window.
In Southeast Asia, Thailand remains the top-ranked team at 94th, followed by Vietnam in 99th, Indonesia in 118th, the Philippines in 135th, and Singapore in 148th. On the Asian continent, Japan holds its position as the top-ranked side, standing 18th in the world, with Iran and South Korea following at 20th and 25th, respectively.
