Kuala lumpur: Ops Luxury 3.0, an operation conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), has unveiled a series of traffic offences, including a foreign national driving a luxury car with a purportedly fake Malaysian driving licence. The operation, which concluded yesterday, highlighted the presence of nine foreigners driving luxury vehicles with offences ranging from lack of insurance to expired road tax.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPJ Senior Enforcement Director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan revealed that among the detected offences, the most severe involved a fake Malaysian driving licence held by a foreigner from a South Asian nation. This finding has prompted JPJ to launch further investigations to trace the source of the fake licence, suspecting the involvement of a document-forging syndicate.
Muhammad Kifli stated that all nine foreigners have been issued summonses. He emphasized that the JPJ will collaborate with the Malaysian Immigration Department and other relevant agencies to thoroughly investigate the case, underscoring that no leniency will be afforded to anyone, including foreigners, who contravene traffic regulations.
Ops Luxury aims to identify luxury vehicles engaged in traffic violations. During the latest operation, 104 vehicles, including Ferraris, Range Rovers, and Porsches, driven by both locals and foreigners, were seized.
