Flood Situation Remains Critical in Tatau, Sarawak

Tatau: The flood situation in the Tatau district of Sarawak has shown no signs of improvement this morning, with the Rumah Steven temporary evacuation centre continuing to accommodate 34 victims from 13 families.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the state Disaster Management Committee Secretariat’s latest report indicates that three areas in Tatau-Kampung Dagang Tatau, Kampung Baru Tatau, and Wharf Pasar Baru-are among 14 locations in the state experiencing rising water levels.

The report further highlights that districts such as Sebauh, with seven affected areas, and Kuching, with four, are also witnessing a similar trend of increasing water levels. Meanwhile, the Drainage and Irrigation Department’s website reveals that six monitoring stations across Sarawak have recorded water levels surpassing the danger threshold as of 9 am today. Notably, two of these stations are located in Bintulu, with one each in Kapit, Miri, Sibu, and Limbang.
