Johor: Barisan Nasional (BN) has reminded its members to conduct a mature campaign in the Johor state election and avoid open disputes or any form of provocation. BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir stated that the coalition's strategy is aimed at enabling its election machinery to focus fully on serving voters at the grassroots.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zambry emphasized that BN has chosen not to engage in quarrels, as reiterated by the party president and Barisan Nasional chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The coalition, now part of the Federal Government alongside other parties, has issued clear instructions to all its election machinery to let its work speak for itself and avoid insults or slander.
Zambry highlighted that the party's campaign is centred on offering practical solutions to issues affecting the people. He stated that while the coalition cannot force anyone to vote, it must present sound arguments and convincing reasons why the people should choose Barisan Nasional.
He further elaborated that BN's priority, along with its component parties UMNO, MCA, MIC, and the People's Progressive Party (PPP), is to ensure its strategic plans are implemented with integrity to preserve the country's political stability. As an experienced political coalition, BN believes its emphasis on economic development and human capital will remain the key factor in earning the people's trust.
BN is contesting all 56 seats in the election, with polling set for July 11 and early voting scheduled for July 7.
