24-Hour KSATRIA Hotline Extends Support for Emergencies Involving Indonesians

Johor bahru: The 24-hour KSATRIA hotline service by the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Johor Bahru is now accessible to both Indonesian citizens and Malaysians for reporting emergencies involving Indonesians. Its Consul General, S. Sigit Widiyanto, explained that KSATRIA, an acronym for KJRI Johor Bahru Selalu Ada Tanpa Ragu Lindungi Anda (KJRI Johor Bahru Always There Without Hesitation to Protect You), caters to Indonesian migrant workers and Malaysians with close ties to Indonesian nationals.

According to Bernama News Agency, Sigit emphasized that the hotline is not restricted to Indonesian citizens alone. Malaysians can utilize it if they encounter an Indonesian in an emergency or accident situation. This includes Malaysians with Indonesian spouses or children, those employing Indonesian domestic helpers, or cases involving the death of an Indonesian in Malaysia.

Sigit shared these details following the installation of a KSATRIA information board on the Mdm Express ferry at the Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal. This event was attended by Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal General Manager Mohd Tuah Mohd Amin. The KSATRIA service is supported by both a chatbot and real officers, offering information on passports, SPLP (Surat Perjalanan Laksana Paspor), work contracts, and consulate operating hours.

Since its launch on April 2, 2023, KSATRIA has registered 14,176 users, processed 3,676 reports, and resolved over 90 percent of the cases. Sigit highlighted that the primary issues reported include the Migrant Repatriation Programme 2.0 (PRM 2.0), worker welfare, and immigration concerns.

The installation of KSATRIA information boards began at the Stulang Laut Ferry Terminal on June 24 and will be expanded to all ferry terminals under KJRI Johor Bahru’s jurisdiction. Mohd Tuah expressed his support for the initiative, noting that the new information board at the terminal would enhance coordination in cases involving Indonesian nationals.

With the KSATRIA hotline, assistance is now more organized and prompt, eliminating the need for random contacts with KJRI officers. The hotline is accessible via QR code or by calling +010-5288040, and it operates around the clock.
