Two Arrested in Kluang Drug Bust; Ecstasy Valued at RM1.1 Million Seized

KLUANG: Police have dismantled a home-based drug trafficking operation, arresting two local men and seizing RM1.1 million worth of ecstasy powder in Taman Permata.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kluang police chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh stated that the suspects, both 26 years old and unemployed, were apprehended by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Kluang district police headquarters at 10 am. The operation involved buyers visiting the residence to purchase the ecstasy, which was intended for recreational use.

The drug supply was reportedly sourced from Johor Bahru, although investigations continue to determine the duration of the operation. Nearly seven kilogrammes of ecstasy powder were seized, along with two vehicles and RM600 in cash.

Bahrin revealed that the ecstasy was processed at a house owned by the family of one of the suspects. It was then packaged in flavored drink packets and sold for RM130 each. Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and have prior drug and crim
inal records. They have been remanded for seven days while the case is investigated under Sections 15(1)(a) and 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

In a separate case, police resolved the theft of a palm oil tanker, apprehending a 36-year-old local man just eight hours after the theft. The tanker, carrying 44,900 litres of palm oil valued at RM243,000, was recovered without the palm oil, which is believed to have been sold. RM60,000 in cash was confiscated from the suspect, who tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record. The individual has been remanded for four days, and the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
