Traditional Games Museum in Kuala Selangor Set to Reopen After Maintenance

Kuala selangor: The Traditional Games Museum located in Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor, will reopen its doors to the public this Wednesday (July 1).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (PADAT) announced that the museum will resume operations after a temporary closure for maintenance and facility upgrades aimed at ensuring safety, comfort, and a better visitor experience.

The museum will welcome visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, operating from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, with the last entry at 4.30 pm. The entrance fee is RM3.00 for adult Malaysian visitors, while children aged 12 and below can enter for free, as stated by PADAT. To further enhance the visitor experience, the museum will feature demonstrations of traditional games in the interactive space according to a set schedule.

Visitors will have the opportunity to witness and participate in various traditional games in a relaxed setting. This initiative aims to allow visitors to appreciate the cultural heritage of the country through first-hand experience. PADAT expressed hope that the reopening of the museum will revive heritage tourism activities in Bukit Malawati, Kuala Selangor, and provide the community with an opportunity to continue learning about and appreciating the country's traditional game heritage.

The Traditional Games Museum stands as the only museum in Malaysia dedicated to showcasing the local community's heritage of traditional games. It features a range of collections, exhibitions, and engaging interpretive materials. The museum serves as an educational platform to introduce traditional games to the younger generation, fostering an appreciation of cultural values, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness that are integral to Malaysian identity.
