Kuala lumpur: Applications for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) have opened today for the land transport sector, focusing on company-owned private vehicles such as jeeps and pickup trucks. This announcement was made by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, successful applicants will be eligible for the diesel subsidy starting July 15, pending approval and the issuance of a fleet card. To qualify for the subsidy, vehicles must be registered as business vehicles under the Company Private Use (AE) class/code in the Road Transport Department's (JPJ) MySikap system. Furthermore, the business must be registered as a sole proprietorship or partnership with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) or the relevant local authority in Sabah and Sarawak.
Armizan highlighted that the subsidy aims to support registered micro and small businesses operating as sole proprietorships and partnerships. Eligible business owners are encouraged to submit their applications promptly through the MySubsidi portal, accessible at https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my.
The government had previously extended SKDS eligibility to two other categories, which include the public land transport sector and the consumer goods land transport sector.
