Subang: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has outlined six strategic pillars aimed at strengthening its operational readiness and upholding its legacy to effectively meet future challenges. This announcement was made by RMAF Chief General Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, who emphasized the importance of a holistic understanding and implementation of these pillars by all RMAF members across all formations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the identified pillars focus on achieving peak capability and readiness, ensuring the sustainability of air defense assets, and enhancing personnel excellence. Additional pillars include strengthening logistics support, empowering doctrine and procedures, and sustaining personnel welfare. General Norazlan highlighted that these pillars serve as a foundation to elevate the force to greater heights, as stated during his inaugural command address at the Subang Air Base.
General Norazlan stressed the importance for RMAF to remain mission-ready by drawing lessons from recent global conflicts, such as those between Russia-Ukraine, Iran-Israel, and India-Pakistan. He confirmed that regular monitoring of nine strategic targets and seven key Capability Development Plan 2055 programs would continue as scheduled.
He further announced the introduction of Body Mass Index as a supplementary career development indicator to promote a healthy, fit, and disciplined force. General Norazlan clarified that this is not a punitive measure but an initiative to encourage a healthier lifestyle and military professionalism. A phased fitness program, tailored to different age groups, is set to begin this year.
