Probe on Rafizi Focuses on Procedures, Not Finances

Kuala lumpur: Former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli stated that the ongoing investigations into his conduct have been concentrating on procedural aspects rather than financial transactions concerning the RM1.1 billion investment linked to a semiconductor deal between the Ministry of Economy and UK-based Arm Holdings.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Rafizi, speaking to reporters outside the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters, clarified that throughout the process of recording his statement, there were no inquiries regarding money flows or payments, contradicting earlier allegations. "There were no questions on financial transactions. As I've said, the questions so far have been about joint venture decisions and procedures," he emphasized.

Rafizi arrived at the MACC headquarters at 1.50 pm for the third consecutive day to continue his cooperation with the investigations into alleged abuse of power and misappropriation related to the semiconductor deal. The investigation by MACC commenced on February 16, following complaints from several non-governmental organizations claiming that the deal was expedited and biased, potentially leading to financial repercussions for the government.
