Police Cracked Down On Subsidised Diesel Misappropriation In Puchong

Puchong: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) cracked down on subsidised diesel misappropriation in a raid at a premise in Puchong, Selangor, with the total value of the seizure, including the tanker lorries and equipment estimated at RM919,022.40.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA) Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Intelligence Investigation (WCB/PSK) commander Datuk Mohd Zaki Ashar stated that the raid, conducted under Ops Taring Bravo 1 from 3.30 am, was carried out in collaboration with the Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN).

He mentioned that two local men, aged 33 and 64, were arrested during the operation, which concluded at 1.30 pm. Preliminary investigations suggested that the individuals were believed to be the premise caretaker and lorry driver, as noted in a statement released today.

Mohd Zaki added that the premise was suspected of operating as a storage and handling facility for subsidised diesel without a valid licence or permit. Checks at the location revealed seven skid tanks and three tanker lorries of various capacities containing approximately 51,900 litres of diesel valued at RM231,993.

An electric pump with a hose was also confiscated, and the case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961. Mohd Zaki indicated that the two individuals and the seized items had been transferred to Selangor KPDN for further investigation to determine the source of the supply, distribution network, and the duration of the premise's operations.

Meanwhile, he reported that from January 1 to date, WCB/PSK had executed 241 raids nationwide, leading to the arrest of 415 individuals for various offences, with total seizures estimated at RM315,104,274.04.
