PKR Election Complaints Thoroughly Reviewed and Addressed, Says Dr Zaliha

Kuala Lumpur: The PKR Central Election Committee (JPP) has meticulously examined over 280 complaints received during the party’s election process, which included issues related to nominations, campaigning, and division-level results.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, JPP chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa has refuted the claims made by incumbent PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli regarding the committee’s handling of complaints in the party’s election process. Dr Zaliha emphasized that each complaint was being looked into individually.

Dr Zaliha stated, “As I have said before, we received more than 280 complaints across various levels – nominations, campaigning, and divisional results – and we have been reviewing each of them individually. So, I deny claims that we are ignoring the complaints. We are indeed addressing them, and action has already been taken on some,” she informed reporters after officiating the National Youth Day celebration for the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur-level.

She further mentioned that Rafizi’s remarks were merely his personal opinion. Rafizi had previously claimed that Dr Zaliha had not effectively managed the party’s elections, pointing to her alleged inability to resolve complaints about irregularities in the divisional elections.

In a related statement, Dr Zaliha disclosed that 251 candidates have registered to contest in the PKR national leadership election for the 2025-2028 term. She expressed satisfaction with the completed nomination stage and noted that the elections are set to take place on May 23.

The PKR National Congress, which will include the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (youth) and Wanita Keadilan congresses, is scheduled to occur from May 22 to 24 in Johor Bahru, with the national leadership election slated for May 23.
