Kuala lumpur: The Armed Forces Veterans Affairs Corporation (PERHEBAT) in collaboration with the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) is implementing the ATM Veteran Entrepreneur Empowerment Program (PUVET ATM) Master Class pilot programme to boost the competitiveness of the group.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PERHEBAT director-general Datuk Amir Md Noor said a total of 180 small traders and micro entrepreneurs among military veterans are targeted to be able to boost their business potential through the initiative. He said the coaching programme not only aims to improve business skills among veterans, but is also specifically designed to build strong Bumiputera equity in the market. “Our intention through this collaboration with INSKEN is that one day all of them will become millionaires. We want to produce millionaires among military veterans,” he said at the programme’s launch here today.
Through the PUVET ATM Master Class, participants are exposed to best business practices and follow intensive individual coaching sessions with certified industry trainers for three months to ensure more strategic monitoring of sales performance. Amir said INSKEN was chosen because the agency has the expertise and mechanism to go to the field to monitor the value of entrepreneur success compared to the previous PERHEBAT approach which focused more on theoretical training skills alone.
He said since the ATM PUVET initiative was implemented starting in 2023, a total of 313 ATM veterans nationwide have received funding benefits under the Rural Entrepreneurship Strengthening Support Grant (SPKLB). He said the RM1.6 million grant injection was a manifestation of the results of the close collaboration driven by PERHEBAT with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) and MARA.
Touching on the PERHEBAT Transformation Plan 2026-2035, he said that until May, a total of 1,224 job opportunities had been successfully provided while 631 veterans had obtained jobs in high-performance sectors with a salary scale of RM2,500 to RM5,000.
