Terengganu: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Charity Ride Convoy, in collaboration with the Ipoh Superbike Club (ISBC), arrived in Terengganu today and presented donations to 11 personnel facing hardship. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Terengganu police chief Datuk Mohd Khairi Khairudin stated that although the contributions were modest, they reflected PDRM's concern for the welfare of its personnel who had dedicated their service to the community.
He explained that the recipients included personnel and family members of PDRM personnel at the Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) and District Police Headquarters (IPD) who were suffering from chronic illnesses or disabilities resulting from accidents while on duty. 'Every year, we reach out to assist personnel facing hardship at selected tour locations as a gesture of concern and as part of our community activities,' he noted.
Among the recipients this time was the father of the late Constable Muhammad Raimi Ismarubee, who died after being electrocuted at the Weston Police Station, Beaufort IPD, Sabah on Aug 6. Mohd Khairi made these remarks at the PDRM Charity Ride Convoy with ISBC at the Terengganu IPK today, where Acting Pahang police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob and Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, who served as convoy leaders, were also present.
In addition to aiding personnel, the police also presented a cash donation to the Darul Falah Orphans' Hostel Welfare Home to assist with administrative expenses, further strengthening ties between the police and the local community. Mohd Khairi added that in conjunction with national month, the 200 convoy participants also took the opportunity to fly the national flag at every tour location to foster patriotism and a sense of national pride.
He mentioned that after Terengganu, the convoy, now in its fourth year, will proceed to Pahang, then Johor, before concluding in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 21.
