Pahang: The Pahang State Secretary's Office is taking significant steps to enhance its communication strategies by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its information dissemination processes. This initiative is being implemented through an AI for Digital Content Production course, which involves 35 officers from various state agencies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the course participants include officers from the Strategic Communication Unit, government departments, local authorities, government-linked companies, the Islamic Religious Council, and representatives of state assemblymen. Khairul Anwar Ahmad Nadzer, the State Strategic Communication director, emphasized that the programme is designed to ensure government communication officers remain up-to-date with technological advancements, particularly in AI.
Khairul Anwar noted that while some participants already possess skills in design, graphics, and video production, AI has the potential to further enhance their efficiency and productivity. The course is conducted in collaboration with the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), which boasts expertise in producing media content that aligns with government communication guidelines.
The programme not only introduces AI applications but also guides participants in delivering information more effectively to target audiences. Meanwhile, Bernama news officer Syed Iylia Hariz Al-Qadri Syed Izman highlighted that the course provides practical exposure to AI tools, which enhance and expedite digital content production.
Participants received hands-on training in AI applications for social media content, writing, graphics, short videos, and digital government communication. They were equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical training to produce content that is engaging, timely, and relevant to modern audiences.
The applications introduced during the course include ChatGPT for writing and content development, Canva for graphics and poster design, and Gemini for information searches and creative idea generation. Syed Iylia Hariz stated that the two-day programme aims to help participants perceive AI as a tool to improve productivity and enhance the quality of information delivery, while also building their confidence in applying it in daily tasks.
