Kuala lumpur: The official BUDI MADANI portal has reported the receipt of over 18,000 applications for an additional 100 litres of subsidised diesel per month from owners of diesel-powered pickup trucks and SUVs as of 10 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan announced that the early implementation of BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) is proceeding smoothly without any technical issues. The initiative, now in its second day, has recorded more than 40,000 transactions with users benefiting from the programme. Amir Hamzah shared this information with reporters during an inspection of the early implementation at NKVE, Damansara Bound Petronas petrol station, alongside Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican.
Amir Hamzah explained that applications for the additional diesel quota can be made online via the official BUDI MADANI portal. For those needing assistance, help is available at the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) offices, Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs), and service counters provided by several oil companies. He also introduced a quota transfer facility for instances where the registered vehicle owner is not the actual user.
For transferring quotas, Amir Hamzah stated that applications can be submitted through the same portal. The government assures that the quota will be transferred to the actual user. Once approved, petrol station verification will use the IC number of the user linked to the quota. The system will detect the quota transfer at petrol stations, ensuring it is used by the designated individual while remaining tied to the vehicle.
No technical issues have been reported concerning the system or petrol station operators. The government remains focused on ensuring the smooth operation of the initiative ahead of July 1. The early implementation of BUDI Diesel began yesterday in Peninsular Malaysia, offering eligible users subsidised diesel at RM2.15 per litre under a flexible quota of up to 200 litres. Starting Wednesday, the subsidised price will reduce to RM2.10 per litre.
