Op Nature: 16 Bank Accounts Involving RM10.2 Million Frozen, Cash and Jewellery Seized

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has taken significant action against alleged corruption by freezing 16 bank accounts involving RM10.2 million. Additionally, the operation, known as Op Nature, led to the seizure of RM87,000 in cash, vehicles, and jewellery valued at RM220,000. This joint operation was conducted by the Selangor MACC and Negeri Sembilan MACC on January 20.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a company director under investigation by the MACC has been remanded from today until January 30. The investigation is focusing on illegal activities related to e-waste factories and the improper disposal of scheduled waste.

Furthermore, the Negeri Sembilan MACC has also remanded four individuals, including a senior officer from the Environment Department. This remand, which began on January 20, extends until January 26 as part of the ongoing investigation.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki has conf irmed that investigations are being conducted under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009. He also indicated that there could be additional arrests as the investigation progresses.
