Kota Kinabalu: The number of flood evacuees in Sabah has decreased slightly to 695 individuals from 189 families as of this morning, compared to 700 individuals from 190 families reported last night.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat detailed that 275 people from 83 families are currently housed at three relief centres in Beaufort. In Kinabatangan, 276 individuals from 70 families are accommodated at two centres, while Keningau hosts 132 people from 32 families at two centres. Additionally, Tambunan is providing shelter for 12 people from four families.
In Sarawak, the number of flood evacuees has also continued to decrease, now standing at 3,921 as of 8 am, down from 4,065 the previous night. There are still 21 relief centres operational across the region. The State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat noted that in the Bintulu Division, evacuee numbers have decreased slightly to 1,868, all housed at five relief centres. In Sibu, the numbers have fallen to 983 evacuees across six relief centres, compared to 1,114 the previous night.
In Miri, the number of evacuees at five relief centres has dropped to 443 from 452. The Mukah Division saw a marginal increase in evacuee numbers to 614 from 613, housed at four centres. The number of evacuees at a relief centre in the Sarikei Division remains unchanged at 13 individuals.
