NSFC Opts Out of Full Import Player Quota Amid Strategic Planning

Seremban: Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) are unlikely to fully utilise the maximum quota of 15 imported players allowed for next season’s Super League campaign. NSFC chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is also Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, indicated that the team is still in the process of finalising the list of import players under the guidance of head coach Mohd Nidzam Jamil.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aminuddin mentioned that discussions are ongoing regarding the positions of the players to be selected. He emphasized the financial constraints preventing the signing of all 15 allowed players. The team intends to integrate both imported and senior players while providing opportunities for younger players to contribute, thereby enhancing the team’s overall performance.

The Malaysian Football League (MFL) had previously announced that clubs could register up to 15 foreign players, with nine eligible for the matchday squad. This includes a combination of unrestricted foreign players, players from Asia, and players from ASEAN countries. Despite these allowances, NSFC is focusing on a more balanced approach to player selection.

Simultaneously, Aminuddin addressed rumors about the potential replacement of the club’s chief executive officer, Faliq Firdaus Muhammad Rom, following the team’s lackluster performance last season. He expressed full support for Faliq, recognizing him as a professional committed to advancing the team’s development agenda. Aminuddin urged for patience and support for the current management to continue their efforts in improving the club’s standing in Malaysian football.
