Kuala Lumpur: National TVET Day, celebrated annually on June 2, is a manifestation of the government’s determination and commitment to positioning Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a primary pathway in producing a dynamic, highly skilled, and future-ready workforce. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that the celebration underscores the significance of the country’s TVET ecosystem as a crucial driver of human capital development, while also providing a platform for educational and career opportunities in the TVET sector through the collaboration of various stakeholders.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the National TVET Council Committee chairman, explained in a post on X that the initiatives align with the Malaysia MADANI framework, which prioritizes the TVET agenda. The initiatives include expanding TVET education access to rural students, enhancing training facilities, and encouraging youth to pursue future careers through skill development.
Ahmad Zahid further highlighted that with robust support from the government, private sector, educational institutions, and the community, TVET will continue to be a central force in constructing a more inclusive, progressive, and globally competitive Malaysia. He also extended an invitation to the public to participate in the National TVET Day 2025 celebrations, scheduled from June 11 to 13 at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), Melaka. This year’s celebration theme is “TVET, the Top Career Choice”.
