MYSA Enhances Agricultural Activities In Kg Parit Empat; Donates Assets Worth RM340,000

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) has channelled agricultural assets, worth RM340,000, to Kampung Parit Empat here through the MADANI Adopted Village (KAM) programme to empower the community through an integrated and inclusive approach.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MYSA’s director-general, Datuk Azlikamil Napiah, announced that the agricultural assets included paddy processing machines and agricultural drones. These resources aim to enhance efficiency and income from agricultural activities, aligning with the latest technology and needs.

“Through allocations from the Ministry of Finance, MYSA and strategic partners have also created additional economic resources through the Villagers’ Economic Enhancement Programme for them to generate additional income from new economic activities other than existing paddy production,” he stated. The programme features initiatives like a Freshwater Fish Breeding Project, a One-Stop Traditional Herb and Stingless Bee Farming Centre Project, a Sweet Melon Planting Project, an Agricultural Drone Service Provider Project, and a Paddy to Rice Processing Machine Project.

Datuk Azlikamil also mentioned that MYSA will upgrade five suraus under the Villagers’ Infrastructure and Facilities Upgrade Programme, covering the area from Kampung Parit 1 Timur to Kampung Parit 4 Timur. Additionally, MYSA is focusing on empowering the younger generation in rural areas through Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

“In conjunction with the MADANI MYSA Community Carnival, we collaborated with the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Universiti Teknologi Mara (Hemrel UiTM) to organise the Selangor State Level ‘Pertandingan Mencipta dan Melancarkan Roket Air dan Roket Pepejal’,” he added. This two-day competition attracted over 80 primary and secondary schools from Selangor, with participation from more than 600 students and teachers.

He emphasized MYSA’s commitment to encouraging mastery of STI and STEM fields, with a particular focus on early exposure to Space Science, ensuring it remains appealing to students.

Among the highlights of the MADANI MYSA Community Carnival were a space exploration exhibition in virtual reality, science experiment demonstrations, solar observations, sales of KAM MYSA residents’ products, tree grafting agriculture demonstrations, and the sale of fruit tree seedlings.
