MyGOV Malaysia Mobile Application Set for Launch Next Month

Kuala Lumpur: The country’s single digital gateway for public services, MyGOV Malaysia, is set to be launched next month, as announced by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. The mobile application is part of Malaysia’s Government Technology (GovTech) initiative, designed to streamline access to government services.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the application aims to transform Malaysia into a digital nation by providing citizens with a unified platform to interact with various government agencies seamlessly. Gobind explained that the mobile application will focus on seven main services: travel (passport matters), registration (birth and citizenship), driving (road tax and driving license), health (medical appointments and health records), summons services (review and payment), housing (land tax and assessment tax), and the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR).

The application will also be integrated with MyDigital ID to offer a secure and streamlined access to government services. Users will be able to verify their identity and access services directly through MyGOV Malaysia using their MyDigital ID identification. As of the latest count, 2.6 million MyDigital ID registrations have been recorded, and the integration will initially involve 34 major government service systems.

Gobind highlighted that the development of MyGOV Malaysia involved strategic partnerships between the government and the private sector, including telecommunications companies and banking institutions. The initiative is expected to optimize the operational costs of Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs) nationwide and increase productivity by utilizing data for more informed decision-making.
