MyCEB Intensifies Efforts to Secure Indonesian Business Events for Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is actively working to attract more business events from Indonesia to Malaysia through its Indonesia Roadshow 2026 in Surabaya and Jakarta, as part of efforts supporting Visit Malaysia 2026. Its chief executive officer Tan Mei Phing emphasized the significance of Indonesia as one of Malaysia's most important business events markets, highlighting the priority of strengthening engagement with industry partners in the country.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, through the roadshow, MyCEB aims to reaffirm its commitment to strengthening partnerships, generating new business opportunities, and showcasing Malaysia's capabilities as a leading business events destination. The agency is focusing on Malaysia's infrastructure and venues, as well as offering seamless support, a range of experiences, and the renowned Malaysian hospitality to make events memorable.

MyCEB, operating under Malaysia's Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, organized the roadshow in Jakarta on Thursday and Surabaya last Tuesday. The events brought together 20 Malaysian industry partners with Indonesian travel agencies, corporate meeting planners, incentive houses, and key business events stakeholders to foster new partnerships and generate future business opportunities.

The programme included business-to-business meetings, networking sessions, and destination presentations, allowing Malaysian exhibitors to showcase the country's venues, diverse destination experiences, connectivity, and support services for meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions. It also served as a platform to reconnect with long-standing industry partners and establish new relationships to support sustainable business growth.

As regional business travel continues to gain momentum, MyCEB anticipates that closer collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia will lead to more high-value business events and strengthen business exchanges between the two countries. Indonesia offers strong growth potential due to its close geographical proximity, excellent air connectivity, long-standing business relationships, and strong cultural affinity.

The initiative is part of MyCEB's ongoing international market development strategy to attract more meetings, incentive travel, conferences, and exhibitions to Malaysia. Business events remain a high-value tourism segment, delivering significant economic impact through increased visitor spending and longer stays, benefiting the hospitality, transportation, retail, food and beverage, and tourism industries.
