MOE Unveils New Preschool Curriculum and Education Development Plan for 2026

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) is focusing on the implementation of a new preschool curriculum and the launch of an Education Development Plan as key priorities for the 2026 school session. Minister Fadhlina Sidek announced these initiatives during the Ceria ke Sekolah programme with the ERM Foundation in the Bandar Tun Razak constituency.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Fadhlina emphasized that 2026 is significant as it marks the return of the school year to a January start, alongside the early introduction of the preschool curriculum, initially scheduled for 2027. "The MOE's primary focus is the implementation of this new preschool curriculum. Our second key priority is the new Education Development Plan, which is scheduled for launch in January," she stated.

During the event, notable attendees included Bandar Tun Razak MP, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and the Prime Minister's political secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin. Minister Fadhlina also highlighted a school aid initiative aimed at easing the financial burden on parents, noting that 800 students received assistance at the event. She further mentioned that approximately 5,000 recipients benefit from such aid in the Bandar Tun Razak constituency, aligning with the MADANI government's goals to support children's education.

Additionally, Dr Wan Azizah expressed that the programme showcases the collective effort to support underprivileged families. "Alhamdulillah. This is a very meaningful occasion, allowing us to come together and provide assistance to those in need. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the sponsor, ERM Foundation, for its ongoing commitment and support for our young people," she remarked in her speech.

ERM Foundation founder Xin Er stated that the initiative provided 800 students in Bandar Tun Razak with RM300 each in financial aid and school supplies, aiming to assist underprivileged children for the new school session. Xin Er added that the foundation hopes to make this a recurring annual effort.
