Kuala lumpur: Maxim Malaysia announced that all its active partner-drivers possess valid e-hailing vehicle permits (EVP) and have access to insurance options through the company’s partners.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the company’s director, Mohd Hazwan Musley, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue operations in Malaysia under the supervision of the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD). He emphasized the firm’s commitment to providing reliable and uninterrupted services while adhering to regulations.
Maxim, along with ID Applications Sdn Bhd (InDrive), had faced scrutiny for not fully complying with service requirements, including the mandatory EVP, risking suspension or revocation of their licenses. Maxim affirmed its dedication to prioritizing the welfare and safety of its drivers and clients. The company offers flexible opportunities for Malaysians, particularly in underserved and rural areas, and contributes to the growth of Malaysia’s digital economy by investing in technology-driven mobility solutions.
The company is looking forward to collaborating closely with APAD and other stakeholders to ensure an efficient transport environment for all Malaysians. On April 24, APAD issued a notice of license revocation to Maxim and InDrive, effective from July 24, following an audit that revealed compliance failures related to EVP requirements.
Both companies subsequently appealed to the Ministry of Transport, which granted a three-month probationary period starting July 24 to meet service conditions. Failure to comply within this period would lead to regulatory action, with no further leniency.
