Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia and Uzbekistan should enhance bilateral trade and investment in sectors like food technology, agriculture, semiconductors, green energy, and electric vehicles, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in the halal industry, education, artificial intelligence, digital, and energy sectors during his speech at the Malaysia-Uzbekistan Business Forum today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, trade and investment across all fields should be expanded, with a particular focus on halal industries and higher education. Anwar highlighted the need for monthly reports to ensure trust and mutual respect between the two nations. He also noted Uzbekistan’s invitation to Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) to participate in its oil and gas activities, urging Petronas to facilitate this for mutual benefit.
Prime Minister Anwar stressed the importance of complementing each other to overcome limitations and to focus on economic fundamentals for the welfare of the peoples of both countries. He remarked on the value of collaboration, stating that no single entity can claim sole expertise and that working together would allow both nations to benefit from their strengths.
