Kuala lumpur: Malaysia and Switzerland continue to strengthen bilateral relations through discussions on potential areas of cooperation to reinforce their shared commitment to heritage-based development and community values. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the matter was discussed during a breakfast meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Malaysia, Chantal Moser, at the Swiss Embassy in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Zaliha highlighted that the meeting also focused on women’s empowerment and leadership, including areas that can be explored within a more progressive and inclusive social policy framework. She expressed her appreciation for the willingness and openness of the Swiss Embassy to further strengthen bilateral ties and mentioned that follow-up actions would be pursued collaboratively in the future.
Dr Zaliha further noted that the meeting was a follow-up to her bilateral session with the head of Switzerland’s Department of Home Affairs, Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, during her working visit to Venice, Italy, in May. This visit was in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Davos Baukultur Alliance, where Malaysia was recognized as the only non-European country to be a member of the international movement.
